A manufacturer of electronic connectors for military and aerospace use established more than 50 years ago, AirBorn Interconnect has been growing recently. Since 2002 it has acquired four companies with complementary products and expanded into new markets. Although the subsidiaries operate with autonomy, the parent company has to produce consolidated financial statements and reports.

Axioma develops and sells software tools that help professional portfolio managers implement their investment strategies. Founded in 1998 in New York City, the growing company expanded outside the United States to Hong Kong, Singapore and London in 2006. Its high-powered products are based on advanced optimization techniques, but Axioma's own finance professionals relied on Excel spreadsheets for budgeting and planning. Baxa develops and manufactures products for administering medications that enable healthcare providers to treat patients safely and effectively. Calypso Technology provides software and services for financial institutions including bank, asset managers, hedge funds, insurers and treasury services. Based in San Fransciso, it also has offices in 15 financial centers around the world.
